I appeared on David Smith’s Wellbeing & Career World podcast and had a great time discussing the intersection of law, AI, and our changing world.

From Doom‑Scrolling to Blessn: The Power of Positive Tech with Emmy Award‑Winning Creator & Blessn Co‑Founders Gerald Jones Wellbeing & Career World Podcast.

Welcome to the Wellbeing and Career World Podcast with my guest Gerald Jones. Today’s guests have a story rooted in friendship, creativity, and a shared mission to make the world a little brighter. Gerald Jones and Kevin Clark first crossed paths more than 20 years ago, meeting backstage at the Academy Awards. What started as a chance encounter quickly grew into a long‑standing partnership built on shared values, creative vision, and a desire to make a meaningful impact. Their collaboration eventually led to an Emmy Award for a powerful public‑service announcement addressing school gun violence — a project that reflected their commitment to hope, safety, and protecting the next generation. But their work extends far beyond media. Gerald and Kevin have spent many years as business partners supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, running programs grounded in empowerment, dignity, and compassion. That dedication to community is woven through everything they do — and it ultimately became the foundation for their latest venture, Blessn. The idea for Blessn emerged in March 2023, when Gerald found himself drained after yet another doom‑scrolling session on social media. He realised there had to be a better way — a space where short‑form video could uplift rather than discourage. A place to faith‑scroll instead of doom‑scroll. When he called Kevin, he discovered they were both feeling the same way. So they decided to build something themselves: a platform designed to encourage connection, positivity, and hope. Over the years that followed, they poured their creativity, faith, and personal savings into developing the Blessn app — testing every detail to ensure it felt safe, encouraging, and genuinely uplifting. Their mission is simple but ambitious: to shift the culture of social media and create a space where kindness, faith, and encouragement rise above the noise. At its core, Blessn is more than an app. It’s a movement — a place where users can share uplifting videos, connect with others who believe in goodness, and replace endless doom‑scrolling with intentional, positive “faith scrolling.” Gerald and Kevin believe that this shift has the power to strengthen communities, change hearts, and remind us all that light has a way of winning.
